Soup Socials
On the 3rd Thursday of each month (except July & August) we host a free lunch at the Summerland Community Centre, from noon to 1 PM - everyone is welcome! Groups of volunteers bring and serve homemade soups and fresh buns. Brenda and her team from Providence Funeral Home provides a tasty dessert.
PRIME (Personal Records In Medical Emergency)
Our PRIME Program is a communication tool for first responders in a medical emergency. A PRIME kit gives participants a central location to store important medical and personal information - a vial will hold this information and be placed in a participants fridge, and an eye-catching decal placed on the fridge door shows that an individual in a PRIME participant.
Christmas Senior Care Packages
This humble program began in December of 2021 and has already left a huge impact on our community. With the generous help of individuals, service groups, and businesses, we fill gift bags with practical items and yummy holiday treats. Then our group of cheery elves delivers the gift bags to lonely/isolated seniors right before Christmas - if the weather allows, some volunteers will even sing carols as they deliver gift bags!
